Supporting Recovery Across St. Louis: St. Paul AME Church
When the May 16 tornado devastated communities across St. Louis, neighbors needed help quickly. Within 72 hours, the St. Louis Community Foundation launched its Disaster Relief Fund to support the organizations already working on the ground.
The fund distributed $1.13 million across 24 organizations, helping address urgent needs including housing, food security, moving and storage, and more. For St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, that support meant being able to expand services for neighbors affected by the storm.
Hear from Rev. Dr. Spencer Lamar Booker’s story to learn what it meant to have the resources show up to the community when it mattered most.
