2025 Impact Report: Putting Community Back in Community Foundation

In 2025, we took a closer look at what it means to be a Community Foundation.

For us, that meant getting closer to the community we serve. Listening more. Showing up more. Being more visible, more engaged and more intentional about how we connect people and resources to the needs across St. Louis.

It meant putting the community back in Community Foundation.

From responding to the May 16 tornado through our St. Louis Disaster Relief Fund to investing in Economic Mobility and Youth Connections, we spent the year working alongside nonprofits, donors, fundholders and community leaders to not only respond in the moment, but also think about what comes next. This impact was made possible because of a community that chooses to invest in St. Louis.

Donors and fundholders make it possible for the Foundation to respond when our community needs it most, support the organizations doing the work every day and invest in what comes next. Nonprofits and community leaders bring their expertise, experiences and connections to help us better understand what is needed and where we can make a difference. Together, those relationships turn generosity into action.

Impact is not measured in numbers alone. The real impact is found in the stories of the people and organizations behind them. It is found in a church that was able to expand its response after a disaster. In a workforce program helping fathers build skills and pursue new opportunities. In school leaders working to create stronger pathways for students. And in fundholders finding new ways to make their giving go further.

These are the stories that shaped our year. They show what can happen when a community foundation is connected to its community, committed to showing up and focused on putting resources where they can make a difference.
