NISA Charitable Fund Awards $50,000 to Folds of Honor
NISA Charitable Fund awarded $50,000 to Folds of Honor during a ceremonial grant check presentation on March 4, 2022. The grant will provide ten $5,000 educational scholarships for the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members in the St. Louis area.
In attendance (pictured above from left) were Matt Schwartz, Board Vice President, Folds of Honor; Elizabeth George, Director of Community Investment, St. Louis Community Foundation; Eriko Pope, NISA Charitable Fund Director; Suzanne Lay, Board Treasurer, Folds of Honor; Rocky Sickmann, veteran and founder of Folds of Honor; Nikki Martinez, Community Investment Manager, St. Louis Community Foundation; and Doug Mitchell, Board President, Folds of Honor.
Sickmann is one of the 52 Iranian hostages held in captivity for 444 days from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981.

In 2020, Folds of Honor awarded 4,533 scholarships totaling over $22 million. Of those awarded, 150 were in Missouri, totaling $678,540. Folds of Honor has awarded 35,000 total scholarships since 2007. “We ensure that families who’ve sacrificed so much for our country receive the education and opportunities they deserve. Whether it’s K-12th grade or higher education, we believe the cost of pursuing their academic dreams should not be an additional burden.”
