Four Benefits of Giving Early for Give STL Day

Nonprofit budgets are especially tight these days, with many having to cancel critical fundraising events and revenue-generating programming because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Our nonprofits are hurting and they need us now more than ever, which is why Give STL Day will be so important for the St. Louis region. Presented by the Berges Family Foundation and powered by the St. Louis Community Foundation, Give STL Day will begin at midnight on May 7. However, donors can join in the fun before by donating before the big day arrives.

Below are four reasons why donors should donate early:

  1. Nonprofits can get support NOW
Now more than ever, our nonprofits need our generosity and support. Early giving allows you, the donor, to give your gift NOW and help the nonprofits who are navigating the community through the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Nonprofits enter for a chance to win a $500 prize
To encourage more giving during the early giving period, the St. Louis Community Foundation will have a random prize drawing of $500 for every organization that receives a donation beginning April 6 through May 6.
  3. Nonprofits can develop their day of strategy
Early giving allows nonprofits to observe donor behavior. Giving may look different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but by donating early donors are helping nonprofits develop their fundraising strategy early, so on May 7 they know exactly how much is needed to fulfill their fundraising goal.
  4. Donors can give completely online
With social distancing and staying at home orders, due to COVID-19, Give STL Day provides an online community where donors can easily donate to any nonprofit. By visiting org and using a credit card, donors can give to any nonprofit that is registered to participate. Donations begin at $10
