BJC Gives Back Initiative Partners with STLCF
To commemorate their 25th anniversary in 2018, BJC recently awarded $25,000 to 13 St. Louis Area nonprofits. BJC invited employees to nominate a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that had personal meaning to them to receive a portion of the $25,000. Eligible organizations provide support health, wellness, behavioral health, education, youth/childhood development, neighborhood revitalization, or community development services.
Based on the criteria provided by BJC, the St. Louis Community Foundation (STLCF) was asked to review, evaluate and make recommendations on how to allocate funds. More than 100 nominations were submitted by BJC employees.
“St. Louis Community Foundation is proud to support BJC’s efforts by lending our expertise to their selection process,” said Elizabeth George, Director of Philanthropic Advising at STLCF. “We were reminded throughout just how rich our community is with people and organizations working hard, every day, to make the world a little better for those around them.”
Thirteen organizations were selected to receive a portion of the $25,000 with grants ranging from $1,500 to $4,000. All selected organizations and the employees who nominated them will be recognized at a reception in March.
