How to Connect Give STL Day to #GivingTuesdayNow Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic
In the last month, the world has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and there is no doubt that we are in unprecedented times. Since the start of this crisis, communities have mobilized to create virtual fundraising campaigns in response as people begin to understand and address the needs within their communities.
One of those initiatives is #GivingTuesdayNow, which is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. This new day is organized by GivingTuesday, and is being held in addition to the annually scheduled GivingTuesday event that will still take place on December 1, 2020.
The St. Louis Community Foundation staff understands how this may cause some confusion to nonprofits and donors. But rest assured the Foundation is committed to hosting Give STL Day on May 7, 2020 for our local nonprofits.
