Berges Family Foundation Supports Give STL Day

The Berges Family Foundation will support Give STL Day as presenting sponsor for the fourth year in a row.

Give STL Day, an online day of giving which will take place on May 10, 2023, raises millions of dollars for more than one thousand nonprofits each year. Since its inception in 2014, over $26.2 million has been raised through hundreds of thousands of donations. Give STL Day is in alignment with the Berges Family Foundation’s key goals of enriching St. Louis and encouraging giving.

“Give STL Day is a fabulous regional approach that shows donors where their support is needed and how much it matters,” said Kelly Pollock, Chief Executive Officer, Berges Family Foundation.

About 25% of Give STL Day donors self-identify as first-time donors, a percentage which has held steady for several years. These new relationships are vital for nonprofits. “The number of people who say ‘yes’ to supporting an organization for the first time on Give STL Day is remarkable. That powerful first step will hopefully be amplified for years to come as that donor forms a strong relationship with that organization,” said Pollock.

Pollock envisions a future for Give STL Day which continues to shine a light on those nonprofits, large and small, that support the most vulnerable people in our community. “Giving should be fun, fulfilling, and empowering,” said Pollock. “Give STL Day gives people the opportunity to give until it feels great!”

The St. Louis Community Foundation provides private grantmaking services for the Berges Family Foundation—a close, highly personalized relationship. The Berges Family Foundation’s grantmaking focuses on “deep, sustained impact” in the areas of youth empowerment, veterans/first responders, cultural institutions, and STEM. As CEO, Pollock’s priority is to ensure that St. Louis continues to be a great place to live, visit, and invest for generations to come. Through events like Give STL Day, the Berges Family Foundation shows its support for thousands of local nonprofits that work every day to improve our community.
