Instructions For Transferring Assets To The

TO CONTRIBUTE CASH

1. Cash contributions should be made by check payable to the “St. Louis Community Foundation” and indicate the name of the fund.

TO CONTRIBUTE VIA ACH TRANSACTION

1. Visit http://www.stlgives.org/give-today/

2. Select “Make Donation”

3. You may elect to “register” an account or “pay without registering”

4. Select fund name from the List of Funds. If your fund is not listed, please select “other” in the dropdown list, and enter the name of the fund in the box marked “other.”

5. Enter all required fields and complete transaction.

TO CONTRIBUTE VIA CREDIT CARD

1. Visit http://www.stlgives.org/give-today/

2. Enter amount

3. Select fund. If your fund is not listed, please enter the name in “other” box below.

4. Click the Donate button.

5. You may log into your PayPal account if you have one, or hit continue to use your credit card without a PayPal account.

6. Enter all required fields and complete transaction.

TO WIRE OR ELECTRONICALLY TRANSFER CASH

Contact Jenny Praytor at jpraytor@stlgives.org, or 314-880-4966, when wiring a cash contribution to a fund.

TO ELECTRONICALLY TRANSFER REGISTERED SECURITIES

1. Donors may electronically transfer gifts of stock from their brokerage accounts through the Depository Trust Company (DTC) to the Community Foundation’s brokerage account at Smith, Moore & Co.

2. Provide donor’s name, fund name and the following account information to the donor’s financial advisor:
SMITH, MOORE & CO.: DTC # 0235
ACCOUNT # 89109697

3. Notify Jenny Praytor at jpraytor@stlgives.org of the DTC transfer and include the donor’s name, fund name and the assets being transferred.

4. Securities are valued on the day received into the Community Foundation’s account at Smith, Moore & Co. and at the average between the high and low market values on that date.

TO ELECTRONICALLY TRANSFER MUTUAL FUND SHARES

1. Notify Jenny Praytor at jpraytor@stlgives.org when making a gift of mutual fund shares.

2. Donor’s mutual fund representative should contact Debbie Manley at Smith, Moore & Co., 314-446-1673 or dmanley@smithmoore.com, to establish a mutual fund account in order for the Community Foundation to receive mutual fund shares.

3. Mutual fund shares are valued as the net asset value of the shares at the end of the day the gift is received at the Community Foundation’s account at Smith, Moore & Co.

TO MAKE A GIFT OF PUBLICLY TRADED SECURITIES IN CERTIFICATE FORM

1. Notify Jenny Praytor at jpraytor@stlgives.org when making a gift of stock in certificate form.

2. Deliver stock certificates and stock power forms to Smith, Moore & Co. at 7777 Bonhomme Ave., Suite 2400, Clayton, Missouri 63105 and indicate the name of the fund. Smith Moore & Co. has stock power forms available.

3. The stock certificate should not be signed by the owner; however, the stock powers form must be signed, if mailed. It is preferable that the stock powers form be signed in the presence of Smith, Moore & Co.

TO INCLUDE YOUR FUND AS A BENEFICIARY OF AN ESTATE GIFT

1. The Foundation accepts testamentary gifts and can be made by a bequest in a donor’s will or trust, or by designating a beneficiary for life insurance policies or retirement assets.

2. Persons interested in making testamentary gifts to the Community Foundation should use the following language:

“To the (Name of Fund), a component fund of The St. Louis Community Foundation, a Missouri nonprofit corporation located at #2 Oak Knoll Park, St. Louis, MO 63105”

3. Donors interested in establishing a testamentary gift should provide documentation or a fund agreement describing the purpose of the gift and any applicable restrictions to which the Community Foundation is subject upon acceptance of the gift. In the event, a testamentary gift is received without written instructions with respect to its purpose, or indication of any applicable restrictions on the gift, it shall be considered an unrestricted contribution to the Community Foundation dedicated to the fulfillment of the Foundation’s general charitable purposes.
